Cross Pointe Confirmation

Confirmation is a long standing tradition in the Lutheran Church, which we are proud to uphold through the provision of instructional classes here at Cross Pointe. These classes offer an opportunity for young people to become familiar with the teachings of the Christian faith and prepare them more fully for the missio of the Church. Following a period of instruction, participants are confirmed by making a public affirmation of their faith. We will study: God’s Word as provided in the Bible, the Ten Commandments, the Apostle's Creed, the Lord's Prayer, and discuss the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion as well as issues of the day including Science, Archaeological findings, and more.

When does confirmation begin?

Our next enrolment begins September 2010.  Our program of study is a two year program.  We will have a fall session, followed by one after Christmas, and the 2nd year will start in 2011 with a graduation near Easter.. If you are interested please email pastorholdner@yahoo.ca.

Why do we start at the 8th grade?

Our youth today are facing more challenges than ever before. We believe that equipping our youth with knowledge and discussing the complex faith questions and concepts earlier the better is important. Our classes are often interactive and challenging and include video and web-based exercises. We are open to all youth who are ready to handle the material.
